"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." — John 10:27
A pastoral companion in your pocket
Whatever you're carrying — anxiety, grief, doubt, a season of change, or simply the desire to know what God's Word says about this moment — The Shepherd is here to walk with you.
Share what's on your heart in a conversation. Receive scripture that speaks directly to your situation, explained with warmth and without judgment. The Shepherd remembers what you've shared and weaves it into every response — so it feels less like a search engine and more like a trusted pastor who knows you.
Powered by advanced AI, grounded entirely in scripture, and built with the guardrails of a real pastoral relationship: no medical advice, no political takes, no denominational debates. Just the Word, and the grace to apply it.
"I've been feeling really anxious about a decision I need to make. I don't know which
direction God wants me to go."
— A real conversation topic
The Shepherd responds with relevant passages, explains why they speak to this moment, and closes with a prayer that names exactly what you're carrying.
Yes, it's AI — and that's a good thing
The Shepherd uses Claude, one of the most thoughtful AI systems available, to understand what you're going through and find the right scripture for this exact moment.
It is not a real pastor. It doesn't replace pastoral care, professional counseling, or your church community. What it does is fill the moments in between — the 2 a.m. worry, the Tuesday afternoon doubt, the quiet morning before the house wakes up — with the Word of God, delivered with warmth and wisdom.
Every response is grounded in scripture. Hard guardrails prevent it from contradicting the Bible, offering medical or legal advice, or engaging in theological debates. If someone is in crisis, it gently directs them to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Everything you need to walk in the Word
Whether you have five minutes or an hour, The Shepherd meets you where you are.
Pastoral Conversations
Share what's on your heart — anxiety, grief, purpose, relationships, doubt — and receive scripture-grounded guidance with empathy and warmth. Choose from 12 life topics or simply start talking. The Shepherd listens first, then responds with 2–3 relevant passages and practical encouragement.
Personalized Prayer
At the end of any conversation, tap "End with prayer" and The Shepherd writes a prayer that names the specific things you shared — your worries, your gratitudes, the people you mentioned — and lifts them to God by name. Not a generic prayer. Yours.
Daily Bread
A fresh scripture and short reflection delivered to your phone every morning at the time you choose. Start the day with one verse that meets you where you are. Save it, reflect on it, or let it sit quietly in your heart.
Bible Study Plans
Tell The Shepherd what you want to study — a topic, a struggle, a season in life — and it creates a multi-session study plan with curated passages, session titles, and reflection prompts. Work through it at your own pace: daily, weekly, or however life allows.
Group Bible Study
Invite your small group, your family, or your Sunday school class to join a study plan by email. Everyone works through the same sessions on their own schedule, with their own private AI-guided conversation for each passage. See each other's progress without seeing each other's words.
Prayer Reminders
Set morning, midday, and evening reminders to pause and pray. The Shepherd personalizes each nudge based on what you've been carrying lately — so the notification speaks to you, not at you. It can even read your calendar and offer a prayer reminder before an important appointment.
Verse Favorites & Prayer Log
Heart any verse that speaks to you and it stays with you. Track prayer requests and mark them answered when God moves. Over time, your journal becomes a record of how scripture met you in every season.
Full Bible Reader
Browse all 66 books, read any chapter, and search across the entire Bible — with your reading progress gently tracked as you go. Tap any verse to save it, reflect on it with The Shepherd, or copy and share it. Always free, with or without a subscription.
Ready-Made Study Plans
Not sure where to start? Choose from curated studies like "Walking Through Grief," "When You're Anxious," "First 30 Days of Psalms," or seasonal plans for Lent and Advent. Adopt one with a single tap and begin immediately — alone or with a group.
Simple to start. Deep enough to stay.

Common Questions
Is The Shepherd a replacement for a real pastor?
No. The Shepherd is a companion for the moments in between — the early morning worry, the mid-week doubt, the quiet moment when you wish someone would point you to the right verse. It does not replace pastoral care, professional counseling, or your church community.
What kind of AI does it use?
The Shepherd is powered by Claude, an AI system developed by Anthropic. Claude is known for being thoughtful, careful, and honest — qualities that matter deeply in a faith context. Every response is grounded in scripture, and the system has firm guardrails that prevent it from contradicting the Bible or offering advice outside its domain.
Is my conversation private?
Yes. Your conversations are stored so you can return to them, and so The Shepherd can respond with context. We never sell your data. We don't use your conversations to train AI models. You can delete your account and all its data at any time.
What denomination is it?
The Shepherd stays within orthodox Christian interpretation and avoids denominational debates. It won't tell you whether to baptize infants or adults, or which day to worship on. It points to scripture and lets the Word speak.
What if someone is in crisis?
If The Shepherd detects that someone may be in danger — suicidal thoughts, abuse, or another crisis — it immediately and gently directs them to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the U.S.) and encourages them to reach out to someone who can be with them in person.
Can I use it for a church small group?
Yes. With the Walk With Me plan, you can create a multi-session Bible study, invite your group by email, and everyone works through it on their own schedule. Each member has their own private AI conversation for each session — so they can go deep without worrying about who's reading over their shoulder. The Church License raises the limits for congregations (groups up to 200 members, unlimited plans).
Do I need to pay to read the Bible?
No. The full Bible reader and search are free for everyone, always.
What translation does it use?
The Shepherd currently uses the King James Version (KJV), which is in the public domain. Additional translations are planned for a future update.
